About Elliot

The Reverend Dr. Elliot Ku is an ordained Minister of the Presbyterian Church of Australia (PCNSW) and serves as the Lead Pastor of The Well Church.

Elliot started his pastoral ministry journey in 2012 when he served as the Youth Ministry Assistant at Padstow Chinese Congregational Church. Prior to joining The Well Church, Elliot enjoyed the privilege of serving as the Associate Minister (Campus Pastor) at GracePoint Presbyterian Church – Lidcombe (2016-2024).

In addition to his pastoral responsibilities, Elliot is also a Lecturer in Church History at Christ College, Sydney (the Australian University of Theology). At Christ College, Elliot teaches in the field of church history and uses the stories of the ancient church to shape and nurture the next generation of pastors and Christian leaders. He is also passionate about global mission, and seeks to contribute to that by serving as an Adjunct Lecturer at Equip Seminary in Malaysia.

He holds a B.A/B.Ed from the University of New South Wales, a M.Div and MTheolSt from Christ College, and a D.Min from Talbot School of Theology (Biola University). He has also completed postgraduate studies in Ancient History at Macquarie University. Elliot enjoys integrating the Bible, theology, history, and practical ministry. His D.Min dissertation focused on a practical and pastoral theology of wealth and is titled Wisdom with Wealth: Neither Worship nor Worry. Elliot is also working on a PhD in Theology at the Australian Catholic University. His dissertation explores the intersection between disability theology and missiology, with a focus on the great 20th century theologian and missiologist, Lesslie Newbigin CBE.

Elliot is married to Sherilyn and together they love showing and speaking about the joys of following Jesus. They have one beautiful, inquisitive, and cheeky daughter – Anastasia.
