It’s late in the evening, but I’d to share this really awesome photo I found not too long ago.
If you’re not familiar with the people above, they are (in the order of Left to Right):
Back Row: Thabiti Anyabwile, Kevin DeYoung, Matt Chandler, Ligon Duncan III, Mark Dever
Front Row: David Platt, John Piper, John Macarthur, Albert Mohler Jr
All of these men have had a profound influence in my personal spiritual growth, and I believe many are indebted to each of them (if not all) to some extent. One of the great things about this particular frame is the unity and diversity among pastors and teachers. They are leaders of churches or seminaries (in some cases, both! ie: John Macarthur), Baptists and Presbyterians, young and old, and of different ethnicities (though I’d say they’re missing a token Asian!). I think groups like T4G and the Gospel Coalition are great examples of the kind of impact that humans can make for the gospel if we are willing to humble ourselves, set aside some differences (though not compromising orthodoxy) and partner with one another – knowing that no single church, group, seminary, or organisation can win the world for Christ. We need all hands on deck.
